How do I embed an image on a Lessons page?

Go to Lessons.

Lessons in site Tool Menu

If the page is titled something other than Lessons, select the title of the page as it appears in your site Tool Menu.

Select Add Content.

Select Add Content + from the Actions Menu.

Select Embed Content.

Under Simple Content Items, select Embed Content on the Page.

Expand or collapse content Upload and embed an image file from your device.

Select Upload new file.

  1. In the dialog box, select Upload new file.
  2. Then, select Choose Files to browse for a file on your computer.

Tip: If the image you would like to embed has already been uploaded to the Resources tool, you may instead choose the "Select existing file from Resources" link to browse for the uploaded file in Resources.

  1. Locate and select the file to upload.
  2. Then, select Open to return to Sakai and upload the file.

Note: The steps and image above may vary depending on your browser and operating system.

Select Save.

The title of the selected file will appear in the dialog box. Select Save to embed the image.

Notice the image file location in Resources.

Note that the image file is automatically uploaded to the Resources tool in a folder with the same title as the Lessons page.

Expand or collapse content Embed an image from the internet.

Select Add new URL.

  1. Select Add a new URL (web link).
  2. Then, paste the URL or embed code of an image from internet into the text field.
  3. Select Save.

Tip: The image must be publicly available on the web (i.e., not behind a login) in order for it to be visible to students.

The newly-embedded image will appear on the page.

Note: Because an image embedded from the internet is not stored locally in Sakai, if the image location moves or if it is removed from the internet, it will no longer be visible in Sakai.
