How do I edit site information?

Site Information for a site refers to its title, description, and site contact information. With the exception of course sites, that are

Go to Site Info.

select Site Info from Tool Menu

Select the Site Info tool from the site Tool Menu.

Select Edit Site Information.

Select the Edit Site Information tab from the Actions Menu.

View Site Title and Term.

  • The Site Title displays the given title of the site. For course sites, the Site Title represents a catalog course code and cannot be changed. For project sites, the Site Title can be modified.
  • The Term refers to the academic term, if applicable.

Select site language.

The default language can be changed to any of the available languages listed. Languages in this list will vary depending upon the language pack(s) installed on your Sakai instance.

Use the dropdown to reveal the languages and select the desired language. This change will impact all site members.

Enter a site description.

Use the Rich Text Editor field to enter a Site Description that will appear to site members.

Use the smaller text field below the Site Description to enter a Short Description (with a maximum of 80 characters). A site Short Description will display in the publicly viewable sites list.

(Optional) Set a site Icon.

Provide a URL link for a custom site icon if desired.

Enter the site contact information.

Site Contact Name and Site Contact Email fields

Enter a person's full name for the Site Contact Name and Site Contact Email for the site contact. (This is typically the site creator, owner, or instructor.)

Select Continue.

Select Continue to apply changes to the site information.

Confirm edits and select Finish.

Confirm edits are correct, which will display in red text. Select Finish to apply changes.
