Go to Syllabus.
Select the Syllabus tool from the site Tool Menu.
Select Add.
Configure syllabus settings.
- Enter a title for the file attachement in the Title field.
- Select Create a single syllabus item.
- Select Add.
Select the syllabus file.
You may choose to 1) Upload a file, 2) Link to a website, or 3) Select a file from Resources.
Upload a local file.
To upload a syllabus from your computer:
- Select Choose File to browse for the file on your local computer.
- The selected file will appear in the Items to attach section of the screen.
- Select Continue to attach the selected file.
Link to a website.
To add a syllabus through a website:
- Select the Link to website tab on the add attachement pop-up window.
- Enter the URL in the Link to website field.
- The URL will appear in the Items to attach area of the window.
- Select Continue.
Select a file from Resources.
To add a syllabus from the site resources:
- Select the Select from resources option on the add attachement pop-up window.
- Locate the syllabus file in the Resources tool and select Attach a copy.
- Select Continue.
Edit Syllabus details.
Once a syllabus has been added to the course through one of the methods above, the Edit Syllabus Item window will display.
- Edit the syllabus Title. (optional)
- Enter a text description of the file within the Rich Text Editor. (optional)
- Select the Only members of this site can see this syllabus option to limit access to the file to users enrolled in the site.
- Select the Add attachments button to browse for another file. (optional)
Set syllabus Display Dates.
- Select a Start Date and End Date if the syllabus file is related to tied to a specific week, unit, or deadline (weekly module, exam, etc.). Students will see the dates listed alongside the syllabus. (optional)
- Select the Display dates on calendar option to create a calendar entry for the syllabus. (optional)
- Choose an option from the Email Notification drop-down menu.
- Select Publish to make the syllabus available.
View syllabus.
Select the Syllabus button to view the published document.
