Sakai has many different native tools available to use in your course or project site. Each site is customizable to choose so tools can be added or removed depending on site needs.
Go to Site Info.
Select Site Info from the site Tool Menu.
Select desired tools to include in Tool Menu.
As you select tools from the General column, they are added to the Selected tools list in the right column. The right column of the screen displays the selected tools.
Below the Selected tools, there is an option to use MathJax for specific tools in your site by checking the box. See more information on enabling LaTeX at How do I add LaTex language to my course site?
Add multiple instances of some tools. (Optional)
Select tools such as Lessons and Web Content enable adding multiple instances of the tool at once.
The Lessons tool may be used as a single tool on the Tool Menu where students click to see all Lessons, or there can be multiple Lessons tools added to the Tool Menu so that each tool is a separate Lesson. See the Lessons tool chapter for more information.
The Web Content tool points to any valid URL of choice: Discrete and multiple instances (URLs) can be added.
Select the More Lessons Tools? or More Web Content Tools? dropdown menus to add additional instances of these tools.
Example: Multiple Tool Instances
The example above shows three Lessons tools (Module 1, Module 2, and Module 3) and one Web Content tool (APAStyle.org).
Select Continue.
Once all tool selections have been made, scroll down and select the Continue button to apply the selections.
Confirm tool selection.
A confirmation listing the selected changes to the Tool Menu will appear. New tools added are shown in red typeface. Review the changes and select the Finish button to apply changes.
New tools are typically added to the bottom of the Tool Menu upon selecting Finish. See the How do I rearrange or rename the items in the Tool Menu? tutorial for instructions on how to change the tool order.
