The 'Name That Face' game is a way for instructional staff to learn student names more quickly by practicing associating names with photos in a pressure-free environment.
Tip: Student photos will not appear in the Roster tool or the 'Name That Face' game if students have not supplied a profile photo. You can encourage students to add Sakai profile photos as outlined in How do I set up my profile?
Select Roster.
Select Roster from your site Tool Menu.
Note: Roster is not part of the default toolset. To add it to your course, refer to How do I add tools to my site?
Select Name That Face.
Select Name That Face from the Actions Menu.
Choose a group of site members.
- If your course contains groups, choose whether to practice names of all site participants or of a specific group. Select the appropriate radio button and use the group dropdown menu.
- Select Start learning.
Select Enter student name.
The first student photo will appear. Select the Enter student name... dropdown menu.
Select a student.
Select a student name from the dropdown menu or search for a name in the text field above the menu.
Select Check.
Select Check to see if your guess is correct.
Results display.
A success or failure message displays, indicating if your guess was correct. To proceed with the next student in the game, select Continue. If you feel confident that you have learned a particular student's name, you may opt to select I know this student so that they will not reappear in the current round of the 'Name That Face' game.
