How does anonymous posting work in Conversations?

Post topics and responses in Conversations anonymously, maintaining the identity of the author from the site participants.

Alert: Instructors and site owners can still view the author's username, regardless of the posting setting.

Go to the Conversations tool.

Select Conversations from the site Tool Menu.

Create new topic.

select Create new topic

Select Create new topic.

Author the topic.

  1. Choose a topic type.
  2. Enter a title.
  3. Optionally, add additional details in the Details field.

Configure the Post options.

In the Post options area:

  • Check the checkbox for Anonymous to post the topic anonymously, AND/OR
  • Check the checkbox for Anonymous Posts to allow anonymous responses to the topic.

Publish post.

Publish button

Select Publish to post the topic, or Save as Draft to retain the topic with saved post options for later posting.

Topic or comment displays anonymously.

The author information displays to students as Anonymous.
