How do I set up tags for my course in Conversations?

Tags are used to organize related topics. As an instructor, you can create and manage tags for each course.

If you've already set up tags in your course, see How do I add or remove a tag from a topic? for information about how site participants can add them.

Go to the Conversations tool.

Select Conversations from the Tool Menu

Select Conversations from the site Tool Menu.

Select Settings.

Select Manage Tags.

Select Manage Tags

Select Manage Tags from the settings menu.

Add tags.

enter tags separated by commas and select Add New Tags
  1. Enter tags in the Tags field. If you are entering multiple tags, use a comma to separate them.
  2. Select Add New Tags.

Verify the new tag(s).

The new tag(s) will appear alphabetically listed alongside any existing tags.

Edit a tag. (Optional)

modify the tag and select Save

Select the Edit option associated with a tag.

  1. Edit the Tag Name field.
  2. Select Save.

Note: if already applied to a topic, the tag name will automatically be updated when edited.

Delete a tag. (Optional)

select Delete

Select the Delete option associated with a tag.

Select OK.

select OK in the dialog box.

Select OK to confirm tag deletion.

Note: if already applied to topic, a tag will be removed when it is deleted.

Use filters to locate the tagged topic.

select the tag filter menu and choose a tag

Once a topic is tagged, use a filter to quickly locate it.

  1. Open the Tag filter menu using the dropdown arrow.
  2. Choose a tag to filter by.
