How do I add text to a Lessons page?

Instructors can add a text box to any location on a Lessons page.

Go to Lessons.

If you titled your page something other than Lessons, select the title of the page as it appears in your Tool Menu.

Select Add Content.

Select Add Content + from the Actions Menu.

Select Add Text.

Under Simple Content Items, select Add Text.

Tip: You may also add content above existing content by selecting the + (plus) button next to any existing item on the page. You may add content to the bottom of the column by selecting the + (plus) button in the lower right corner of the column.

Enter your text content.

  1. Type content into the text field. Use the Rich Text Editor tools to format the text as desired.
  2. Select Save.

After saving, you will return to the Lessons page with the new text displayed.

Note: The Lessons tool descriptive help text disappears from the page after any content has been added.

Repeat the steps above to add more content items to the page. In the example image above, a column break and a hyperlink were added to the text and image that already existed on the page.

Tip: Text boxes can be added at any point in the Lessons page. You may want to intersperse text items with other types of Lessons content, such as images, embedded video, assignment or assessment links, etc.
