How do I Restore a Recording from Panopto Archive?

Panopto Recordings are subject to the following retention guidelines:

  • Recordings not viewed/edited/accessed in 4 years are moved to the Archive section in Panopto.
  • Recordings in the Archive section for 1 year are deleted.

Use the steps in this guide to restore a recording from the Archive section.

Login to Panopto

Navigate to luc.hosted.panopto.com and login with your credentials.

You can also access Panopto by logging in through Sakai and selecting the Panopto tool.

Access the System Menu

On your Panopto homepage, select the System button at the bottom left.

Access the Archive Section

From the System menu, select Archive.

Locate and Restore your recording

One inside the Archive, move your cursor over the recording you wish to restore and select the Restore from Archive button labeled with an arrow.

Select OK

When you get a message asking if you want to restore the selected item(s), select OK.

After selecting OK, you will see a "Restoration in progress" message below the recording. Once this happens, your recording will be restored within 48 hours. You will receive an email notification when it is ready.
