Turnitin in Brightspace is accessible within the Content tool. Turnitin assignments are created via Content and students access and submit Turnitin assignments via Content.
Note: Turnitin may not be applied to assignments created in the Assignments tool.
Select Content.
Select the Content tool from the navbar of the Brightspace course where you would like to create a Turnitin assignment.
(Optional) Select a unit.
If the course contains more than one unit, select the title of the unit under which the Turnitin assignment should be located.
Choose an assignment type.
Choose from three assignment options: Standard, Multipart, or opt to copy an assignment from an existing class.
Note: Drag the icon containing three diagonal lines in the bottom right corner of the window to increase the size of the window.

Enter assignment details.
Enter or configure the following assignment details:
- Provide a title for the assignment. This is the title that will appear to students and in the Grades tool.
- Type, or copy and paste, assignment instructions.
- Select the calendar-picker icon to choose an assignment start date.
- Select the calendar-picker icon to choose an assignment due date. Note: Options for allowing resubmissions and late submissions are shown in the subsequent step.
- Select the calendar-picker icon to choose a feedback release date. This date may match the due date if you would like to release feedback immediately.
- Enter a point value for the assignment in the max points field.
- (Optional) Provide a template that will be excluded from the Similarity Report matches. To provide a template that students may use to begin their assignment, select Upload File to locate the template file on your computer.
Select Create Assignment.
After entering all assignment details and configuring settings as desired, select Create Assignment.
