How do I add a rubric to my site?

Select Rubrics.

select Rubrics

In the target Sakai site, select Rubrics from the Tool Menu.

Select Add Rubric.

Select the + Add Rubric button to begin creating a rubric.

Enter a Rubric Title.

  1. Type a title for the rubric in the "Rubric Title" text field.
  2. Then, select Save.

Edit the existing criteria.

select the Edit icon

To edit the titles of existing criteria, select the Edit icon (i.e., pencil).

  1. Edit the Criterion Title.
  2. Enter a Criterion Description. (Optional)
  3. Select Save to apply changes.

Edit the ratings.

Edit rating titles and points

To edit the rating level titles, point values, and/or descriptions, select the Edit icon (i.e., pencil).

  1. Enter the Rating Title. By default, ratings will reflect ratings of meeting expectations, such as "Does not meet expectations," "Meets expectations," or "Exceeds expectations."
  2. Enter the Points that the rating is worth.
  3. Enter the Rating Description. (Optional)
  4. Select Save to apply changes.

Add rating levels. (Optional)

To add another rating level to a criterion, select the plus [+] icon to insert a new rating level. The new rating level will appear in the location of the plus [+] icon that is selected.

Add criteria and/or criterion groups.

Select Add Criterion to add another criterion. For long rubrics, instructors may wish to add Criterion Groups for the organization of criteria.

Or, copy an existing criterion.

Select the Copy icon to copy an existing criterion.

Tip: Sometimes it is easier to copy an existing criterion and edit the copy than to add a new one.

Drag and drop to reorder.

Change the order of both criteria and ratings by selecting the Reorder icon in each cell and dragging the selected item to its new location.

Delete criteria.

select X to delete a criterion

Select the X icon to delete an unnecessary criterion.

Confirm deletion.

select remove

Select the Remove button when prompted to confirm the deletion of a criterion.
