How do I limit access to Lessons page items to groups?

Instructors can limit access (i.e., specify conditional release) to items added to a Lessons page or subpage by group.

Note: The site must have existing groups in order to limit item access to groups. See How do I create groups? for more information on creating groups.

Select Lessons.

In the target Sakai site, select Lessons from the Tool Menu.

Note: The default or blank Lessons page contains text and images that explain the basic functionality of the Lessons tool.

Select Edit.

Hover over and select the Edit (i.e., pencil) icon for the item to be restricted to a group or groups.

Select Edit the groups for which this item should be shown.

In the dialog box, select the link to "Edit the groups for which this item should be shown."

Select the group(s) to release the item to.

Check the groups and select update item
  1. Check the checkboxes for the groups that should have access to the Lessons item.
  2. Then, select Update Item.

Items that are restricted based on specified criteria indicate the criteria in brackets.

Note: All items that can be added to a Lessons page can be limited to a selected group (or groups) via the Edit button.
