How do I enable group submissions for an assignment?
Note: You must have existing groups in your site in order for the group options to appear. For instructions on creating groups, see How do I create groups?
Select the Assignments tool from the Tool Menu in your site.
Add or Edit an assignment.
Select Add to create a new assignment.
Or, select Edit to modify an existing assignment.
Select Group Submission - One submission per group.
If you select the radio button for Group Submission - One submission per group, it will allow any member of a group to submit an assignment on behalf of the group. By default, the same grade is applied to all group members when the item is graded. However, the instructor can also override the group grade for any individual member of the group.
Selecting Group Submission automatically expands the Display only to selected groups option under Access to show a list of all existing groups in the site. If desired, choose one or more groups to limit assignment submission to those groups only.
Post your assignment.
Once you have entered all of your assignment settings, scroll down to the bottom and select Post to save your changes and post the assignment.
If an assignment has been created as a group assignment, you will no longer be able to modify group membership in Site Info.
