How do I set up or modify my assessment in Examity?
Instructors must obtain permission from the Provost's office and their department to use Examity. Please visit the Office of Online Learning's Online Course Proctoring page for more information.
To set up an Examity exam, you should create the test in Sakai, then complete the exam set-up in Examity. Visit the How do I create my Examity assessment in Sakai? documentation for more information.
In the target Sakai site, welect the Examity tool from the Tool Menu.
Select Press to re-launch page.
If prompted, select Press to re-launch page to open Examity in a new browser tab.
Locate the Courses/Exams tab on the Dashboard.
Select the Courses/Exams tab to edit or modify your exam.
Select the white arrow to the left of the course ID.
Select the white sideways arrow icon to the left of the course ID.
Select the pencil icon of the exam you'd like to edit.
Under the Actions column, select the pencil icon of the exam you'd like to edit.
The following details should match the set-up of your assessment in Sakai:
- Exam Name (Title)
- Duration of the Exam in hours and minutes
- Link to access Exam (i.e., callback URL)
- Exam start date and time (mm/dd/yyyy)
- Exam end date and time (mm/dd/yyyy)
Please note if you change your exam in Sakai, verify the exam details match in Examity. To set up your exam in Sakai, visit the How do I create my Examity assessment in Sakai? documentation.
Change the status to Active.
From Status, select Active from the drop-down list.
Review the optional settings.
Review the following optional settings and modify them if they apply to your exam:
- Upload files
- Exam UserName & Exam Password
- Extended time and/or special accommodations
For the section "Any need for extended time and/or special accommodations?", please visit the How do I set special accommodations for students in Examity? documentation.
Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select Update to save exam details.
FairExam Levels are selected directly in Examity. While instructors should inform students of the exam level, it does not need to be modified in the Sakai assessment settings.
Select your FairExam Level from the drop down menu.
Select the FairExam Level drop-down menu and choose the appropriate level.
Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up, and select Update to save your FairExam Level Selection.
Similar to the FairExam Levels, Exam Rules are selected directly in Examity. While instructors should inform students of the exam rules, these settings do not need to be modified in the Sakai assessment settings.
Select the Additional Rules that apply to the exam.
Scroll to the bottom of the Examity: Edit Exam pop up. In the Additional Rules section, check all boxes that apply for the exam.
Enter any Special Instructions.
1. Enter any special instructions for the proctor or the students in the Special Instructions text box.
2. You may also select who this information is visible to by choosing roles under Visible To.
3. Then, select Save to save any special instructions and their visibility.
Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up, and select Update to save.
