How do I create a link to a Resources item in a text box?
Select the link text.
In the Rich Text Editor text box, select the text you would like to serve as a link to the folder or file. For accessibility, you should use meaningful text to describe the folder or file you are linking.
Select the Link icon.
Select the Link icon from the Rich Text Editor toolbar. The Link icon looks like a chain link.
Insert the link.
A window will pop up to allow you to enter a URL or select an item using the Server Browser.
Note: If you copy a link in Resources and paste it into the Rich Text Editor in another tool (e.g., Lessons) rather than using the Server Browser to select the item in the editor, the link will not change when you import content from the site.
Select Browse Server.
The Server Browser will open. It displays items on your site to which you can link.
Double-clicking Resources will expand the list of the site's Resources.
Select the item you would like to link to.

- Select OK.
Note: There may be additional folders in Resources in which the item is located. Double-click each folder to display its contents.

The link displays in the Rich Text Editor.
The text linked to the Resources item will be underlined.
Alternatively, you may go to Resources to locate the item URL.
In the target Sakai site, select the Resources tool from the Tool Menu.
Locate the item you want to link to in Resources and select Actions.
Choose Edit Details.
From the drop-down menu, choose Edit Details.
Select File Details.
Select File Details to expand the section.
Copy the item's URL.
Copy the item URL to your computer's clipboard (highlight text and CTRL + C for PC or COMMAND + C for Mac) or select the Copy URL to clipboard link.
Paste the item's URL.
In the Rich Text Editor, paste (CTRL + V for PC or COMMAND + V for Mac) the copied URL for the Resources item in the URL field.
Select OK to insert the link.
Link displays in Rich Text Editor.
The selected text will display as an underlined link to the Resources item.
Select Save to save your changes.
