To view Sakai notifications from a mobile browser, you may need to update some settings on your mobile device.
The steps and images below correspond to the Safari browser on an Apple iPhone running iOS 18. The necessary steps may vary for different browser and device types.
Error message example.
In a mobile web browser, you may see an error message like the one pictured above upon selecting the bell (notifications) icon. This error message indicates that the browser settings on your mobile device should be adjusted.
Go to Settings.
Locate and open the Settings on your phone.
Select Apps.
Select Apps to access app-specific settings.
Locate and open browser settings.
Locate and open the settings for your mobile browser app.
Select Advanced.
Select Advanced to view additional browser settings.
Select Feature Flags.
Select Feature Flags.
Toggle on notifications settings.
Toggle ON the "Notifications" setting.
Close and re-open mobile browser.
To apply the new settings, close your mobile browser application. Then, re-open the mobile browser and login to Sakai.
Select Notifications.
Select the bell (notifications) icon.
Select Enable.
Select Enable.
Tip: If you still see an error message regarding push notifications, try refreshing the page by selecting the circular arrow icon next to the site URL.
Select Accept Notifications.
Select Accept Notifications.
Select Show Notifications.
If prompted to reaffirm permission for notifications, select Show Notifications.
View Notifications.
Select a tool name to view notifications related to that tool.
Alert: Please note that closing & re-opening or refreshing your web browser app may be required more than once to continue to view notifications.
