  1. Paste the question text into the text field on the left.
  2. After entering all questions, select Next.

Note: Your questions must be written in a specific format in order to generate the assessment. Refer to the "Instructions & Examples" shown on this screen for the correct formatting. To see formatting instructions for a specific question type, select that question type from the list (highlighted in the above image for emphasis).

Or, write your questions in advance.

Or, compose questions in a text editor

Tip: You may find it convenient to prepare questions in advance and then copy and paste them into the question area. Refer to the mark-up text format required and then type up your questions in a text editor (e.g., Word, Notepad, etc.). Then, copy and paste your questions into the markup text area in Sakai.

Select Create Assessment.

Select Create Assessment

Review your assessment questions and verify that they are formatted correctly. To make changes to any questions, select Back to return to the previous screen. Select Create Assessment to create a new assessment.

(Alternately, select Create Question Pool to create a new question pool instead of a new assessment.)

Continue editing the assessment.

The assessment can be modified as described in How do I create an Assessment (i.e., Test or Quiz)?, starting from "Add a question."

Tip: Remember to publish your assessment before students can view and submit attempts.
