Select Assignments.
Select Assignments from the site Tool Menu.
Select Grade.
Select the Grade link beneath the assignment to be graded.
Select the student name for the submission to be graded.
Select the student name for the submission to be graded. Ensure that the checkbox for "Use Sakai grader to grade submissions" is unchecked so that the legacy grader is enabled.
Tip: Alternatively, select the rubric icon in the same row as the student's name to open the grading rubric for that student. However, opening the rubric from here will bypass the view of the student submission, so it is best used to review or verify a previously scored rubric.

Select the appropriate rating level for each criterion.
The points will be added up automatically based on your rating selections. The total points earned will appear in the Grade field.
Adjust points. (Optional)
In individual score adjustment was applied in the assignment's settings, the rating points can be modified if desired. The modification is denoted by the original criteria score struck through. In the example above, the student was awarded 44 points, but the instructor chose to adjust their score for the Argument criterion from 44 to 46.
Enter comments. (Optional)
To comment on a specific criterion:
- Select the comment bubble icon for that criterion.
- Enter your comment into the text field provided.
- Select Done.
Select Save and Don't Release to Student.
Select Save and Don't Release to Student. Alternatively, select Save and Release to Student to return scores and feedback to the student immediately.
