How do I edit a rubric?

Note: Only rubrics that are local to a site and have not been associated with a grade item can be edited. Once a rubric is in use, it will appear with a lock icon next to it, indicating that it cannot be edited.

Select Rubrics.

In the target Sakai site, select Rubrics from the Tool Menu.

Select the title of the rubric.

To view and modify an unlocked rubric, select it from the list of Site Rubrics.

Retitle a rubric.

select Edit

To retitle a rubric, select the Edit icon to the right of the rubric title.

Modify the title and Save.

Enter a new name for the rubric and select Save.

Modify criteria.

select Edit

To change the title or description of a criterion, select the Edit icon to the right of the criterion title.

  1. Change the title and/or description.
  2. Select Save.

Modify rating levels.

select Edit

To edit the title, description, or point value for a rating level, select the Edit icon to the right of that rating level.

Modify the rating title, points, and/or description and Save.

  1. Change the rating title and/or description.
  2. Change the rating point value.
  3. Select Save.

Note: To delete a rating level, select Remove.

Drag and drop to reorder.

Change the order of both criteria and ratings by selecting the Reorder icon in each cell and dragging the selected item to its new location.

Delete unneeded criteria.

select X to delete

Select the X icon to delete an unnecessary criterion from the rubric.

Confirm criterion deletion.

select Remove

Select Remove from the pop-box box to confirm deletion of the criterion.
