How do I upload and unpack a zip file to a Resources folder?

There are two methods for uploading a zip file to Resources: drag-and-drop and the upload file functionality. Once the file is uploaded, users may use the Actions > Expand Zip Archive functionality to unpack the zip file into its component files.

Select Resources.

In the target Sakai site, select the Resources tool from the Tool Menu.

Select Actions, then choose Upload Files.

  1. Select the Actions dropdown menu to the right of the destination folder.
  2. Choose Upload Files.

Users may drag files from their computers (e.g., Desktop, Documents) and drop them in the box labeled Drop files to upload, or click here to browse.

This will display thumbnails of the files that will be uploaded (as shown in the image above).

Or, select Drop files to upload.

Or, select Drop files to upload, then browser for and select the file

Alternatively, select the Drop files to upload, or click here to browse button. This will open the Finder or Explorer window where users can browse for and select the file.

Select Continue.

Select Actions, then choose select Expand ZIP Archive.

  1. Select the Actions dropdown menu to the right of the zip file.
  2. Choose Expand ZIP Archive.

The zip file is automatically unpacked within the current folder.
